As Riverside’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Vern Settle brings over 30 years of extensive experience in finance and accounting to his role. With a diverse background that includes taking a company public in the 1990s, spearheading entrepreneurial ventures, and overseeing finance operations for various manufacturing companies, Vern offers a multifaceted skill set that enhances Riverside’s financial strategies.
Vern earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Western Washington University in 1984 and obtained his CMA (Certificate in Management Accounting) in 2009. He further expanded his knowledge by attending courses in accounting at UCLA and the University of LaVerne. Joining Riverside as Controller in 2013, Vern’s exceptional performance led to his nomination to serve on Riverside’s board in 2015, ultimately culminating in his appointment as CFO in 2016.
Originally from the Puget Sound region of Washington state, Vern relocated to California in 1984, where he met and married his wife, Laura, in 1988. They later settled in Colorado in 1994, where they have raised three children and now enjoy the company of several grandchildren. Outside of his professional endeavors, Vern embraces the Colorado outdoor lifestyle, indulging in activities such as boating, hunting, fishing, and camping in the mountains with his family and friends.
