Riverside employees Stacy Bunin and Narges Shahroudi were part of a group selected as recipients of the 2021 NESDIS Vision and Creativity Award for their exceptional work on the NOAA Artificial Intelligence Workshop in both 2019 and 2020.
The team organized the 1st NOAA Artificial Intelligence Workshop in 2019 and reimagined it in 2020 in response to COVID. The 2020 event lasted months – increasing technical breadth and participant inclusion. It had tremendous workforce impact and established NOAA as an international leader in AI for Environmental Science.
The award recipients are selected for demonstrating an outstanding example of innovation, leadership, partnerships, and attention to detail.
