Riverside Technology, inc. (RTi) has designed both stand-alone and
integrated web sites specifically to display data output from
RTi software, including RTi's
RiverTrak® and
TSTool applications,
the National Weather Service River Forecasting System (NWSRFS)
software, and other software packages. The web sites primarily are
data-driven and provide an interface for the user to access data
products. Often the interface is a map, which allows the user to
click on a particular location to view the data products specific
for that location. The data products themselves vary depending on
the system; common data products include plots, table data, and maps.
For web pages integrated with an existing web site for data display,
RTi develops the web site to the client's requirements, incorporating
the client's look-and-feel as well as web site standards. We also
work with clients to create entirely new, stand-alone web sites that
reflect the client's goals. Depending on client needs, a web site can
be made either accessible only to the client's network or open to the
World Wide Web.
Based on the web site requirements, the web server used,
and the data available, the technologies we use in
web site development include
- Active Server Pages (ASP) or PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP)
- JavaScript
- Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
- Internet Mapping
- Java Applets or Servlets
