Data Collection and Management
When data collection and management are the primary objectives, the RiverTrak® system
provides a simple, yet powerful tool for archiving and viewing real-time data. These systems
can be operated either manually or automatically. A
RiverTrak® data collection and management
system includes:
- Integration with a data collection system
- RiverTrak supporting database
- Interactive map interface
- Alarms activated by threshold values

Streamflow Forecasting
When real-time streamflow forecasting with data
collection and management is the primary objective, the
RiverTrak® system includes hydrologic and hydraulic modeling components. With these models, the
RiverTrak® system
simulates the response of a watershed as a function of the real-time hydrometerological observations.
A RiverTrak® streamflow forecasting system includes:
- All components of the data collection and management system
- Continuous, physically-based hydrologic/hydraulic models
- Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) capability
- Automatic execution and updating
- Flood inundation mapping using HEC-RAS and GIS tools
Long-term Hydrologic Forecasting
When longer-term hydrologic forecasts or more advanced analysis of data and model results are needed for decision support, the
