Information Technology and Management
RTi's information technology and management capabilities range from real-time
hydrometeorological data network design and instrumentation, data communications
and database management systems, and system integration, to flood forecasting
and flood inundation mapping for disaster management, geospatial information
systems (including geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing
technologies), and Decision Support Systems, including dissemination of data,
analysis, and flood warning information via the Internet for policy and decision
makers, and the general public.
Geospatial information technology is integral to most of RTi's projects,
especially in Decision Support Systems. Using geospatial information
technologies for collecting, presenting and analyzing data at the
appropriate spatial and temporal scales, RTi provides customized tools for
applications including hydrometeorological data analysis, water rights
planning, consumptive water use, flood inundation mapping, flood damage
assessments, flood control, and land use planning. RTi applies its systems
integration expertise to water management analysis and feasibility studies,
and system data needs and component assessments. To provide a framework
for a variety of decision support models, RTi designs and develops
well-documented, user-friendly relational database systems which can be
upgraded and expanded. The firm also is proficient with the design and
implementation of both conventional and state-of-the-art, real-time data
monitoring networks, many of which are operated in areas of extreme climatic
conditions, including high-altitude, cold, and semi-tropical regions.
