Introduction

RTi is a water resources and environmental engineering company using a variety of technologies to provide solutions to our clients. We accept applications for student internships from qualified university students in engineering, science, and computer science to work on software development for water resources management and environmental related projects. Our goal is to provide students an opportunity to be involved in challenging projects with a talented team, to gain experience in their technical field, and to explore future employment opportunities with RTi.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Focusing on software for water resources, RTi software developers use a broad and unique set of skills. The graphics below illustrate some of our work. Qualified individuals should have skills in one or more of the areas listed below. An engineering or technical background is desirable but not required.

Software Development Object-oriented design and development C++, Visual C++ and ActiveX, Java, Visual Basic ESRI MapObjects interface development Databases including INFORMIX, Oracle, Access, SQLServer X Windows Perl and other scripting languages

Systems/Hardware/Communications UNIX/LINUX, Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP, Novell system administration Web server installation and configuration including Apache, IIS Java servlets, CGI, and IIS Active Server Pages ESRI Internet Map Server

Engineering/Other GIS, GPS Remote Sensing Data collection and instrumentation Optimization techniques Model GUI development Foreign language, especially Portuguese and Spanish
